Young Writers Published

We are very pleased to announce that a number of our pupils' poems have been selected for publication by Young Writers in My First Acrostic - Essex, Kent and London. This book will be published on 31st May 2015.

Letters will be coming home to the parents of those children selected in order for them to give consent for work to be published. They will also have the opportunity to purchase a book for themselves although the school will be getting a copy for our school library.

Let's Dance Disney

On Tuesday 25th February, 24 children from Year 3 and 4 went to The North School to participate in a celebration of dance alongside Goat Lees, Pluckley and Kingsnorth School. Each school performed one or two dances to a Disney track of their choice and although we're biased, we think that the pupils of Phoenix did the best!

We weren't able to record the actual performance but we do have a video of one of the practice sessions on our YouTube page.

Judging Books by their Covers

Phoenix School started off Book Week today with adults from around the school sharing one of their favourite books. The children were taken in to assembly where Miss Town showed them the front covers of fifteen different books and the children then had to choose one they wanted to listen to. They were not told which adult would be reading which book so they were solely judging the books by their front cover (apparently you're not supposed to do that!)
