Maths Assessment

At Phoenix, we assess maths in a variety of different ways.

Teachers may informally assess at the end of units of work, using the White Rose Maths end of unit tests. Teachers will also assess children's progress on Times Tables Rockstars and Doodle Maths.

There are some more formal assessments that children will take part in. These are:

1. Early Years baseline assessment – completed between April and June of the year when children turn 5.

2. Year 1 Number bond assessment – this is completed in the summer term of year 1. This is not a statutory assessment, but it is one that Phoenix uses.

3. Key Stage 1 tests – these are completed in the Summer term of Year 2.

4. The Year 4 Multiplication Check – this is completed in June of Year 4.

5. Key Stage 2 tests (sometimes referred to as SATs tests) – these are completed in May of Year 6.
