Art and Design Curriculum at Phoenix Community Primary School

The Art curriculum gives children the opportunity to express their creativity by experimenting with different mediums and art forms.  They capture their ideas from their initial inception of ideas to the final piece of work in their sketchbook, allowing them to develop their explorative learning. 

The curriculum engages children’s curiosity by exploring the work of a wide diversity of artists  from different backgrounds and time periods.  

Through reflection on our own work and that of other artists, we develop our language and critical thinking skills, reflecting on the social, intellectual, emotional, cultural and environmental impact of art forms.
